This message from Friedkin CEO Marc Watts is interesting - he is very concerned about Friedkin employees “doing the right thing” but apparently this only applies to Friedkin US employees - Fried employees in Tanzania are treated very differently.
Why is this ??

The Friedkin Group is a privately-held consortium of businesses and investments driven by the experience, expertise and passions of Chairman and CEO Dan Friedkin. From one of the world’s largest independent Toyota distributors, to a collection of award-winning luxury resorts, the diverse companies affiliated with The Friedkin Group are unified by a shared mission: to provide best-in-class experiences that inspire joy and purpose.

If anyone is concerned about the truth of these allegations they should call the Gulf States Toyota office in Houston for a response...

(But don’t waste your time .. they won’t reply)

Every country has different labor laws.

Are you seriously suggesting that employees in Tanzania are paid the same as employees in the US??

And you seem to be going round in circles.

You first complained about them of tax evasion.

Now you are claiming they are using basically slave labor!

Make up your kind.

This is not Facebook, where idiots participate.

We have knowledgeable people here who do work, in many countries, and won’t mind telling you their opinions.

If you wish to have an intelligent discussion, come up with something intelligent.

Your posts so far are anything but.

I'm sure the Friedkin operation will pull out of Tanzania and take the millions they contribute to the economy with them. Then the Tanzanian officials won't have to worry about shaking them down anymore. Then Chinese concerns will fill in the void and give them a Mig or two, maybe a train station. Then continue to strip their country of resources.

Yup. I saw a video once of a young Chinese girl speaking Swahili with some older East African kids. They were amazed at how well she spoke their language but it never seemed to cross their minds WHY a young Chinese girl would become fluent in Swahili.

Africa has only itself to blame!

They replaced Western colonialism with Chinese colonialism.

Instead of taking charge and developing their countries on their own.

Stop putting the blame on others for your own corruption!

Actually ACFT has provided us with a very powerful public service announcement - Stay the hell away from Tanzania and don't support their corrupt government.

It's too bad that he won't debate the issue or admit to his true intentions. But I believe we all got the PSA message.

I spent a pile of money in TZ in 06 and 07. The 06 Safari was the worst I have ever been on. Very stressful due to the government temporarily closing lion hunting.

The 07 Safari was good. However , the TZ government changed prices after virtually all contracts were set.

Who needs to pay 6 figures annually to have the government put this stress on them ? I don’t.

I am done with TZ.

All you need know is right there in his name in the email address.

It means "I am a snowflake. I have no life, no talent, cannot think of anything useful to do with my life, so I have to devote my sorry life to complaining about others who are doing something useful" clap

You are being a perfect example of what is wrong with Africa.

You are unwilling to do anything useful to better your life.

You want handouts, and when you don't get what you want, you start blaming others.

A mate of mine has just told me he's shagging his girlfriend and her twin. I said "How can you tell them apart?" He said "Her brother's got a moustache!"

If you mean the rampant corruption in Africa, yes it is.

And not likely to stop within our lifetime mate!

You have been there, and have seen how hard the people there work.

Sadly, the powers that be, and others like them, do not appreciate hard work and only want handouts!
