While DSC published the comments above, the unfortunate reality is that COVID is getting drastically worse in the area. The lunatic judge is making noise .

What a load of stupidity from every corner.

We are not, repeat, NOT, going to stop this virus.

We need to learn to live with it, without making life miserable for everyone.

Life must go on, or the economic damage is not going to be repaired.

. . . 14 day trend in new cases for Dallas County is +174%. Too soon in my opinion to see how Dallas is likely to react.

Saeed, you are 100% correct in my opinion. I wish our politicians could get a realistic grasp on this as you have.

The Dallas Marathon was this past weekend with over 12,000 participants. What’s relevant is that the pre-race expo was held in the same venue as DSC. I believe most participants attended the expo to pick up their race packets. It should serve a a good test with the omicron variant out there.

I agree 100%. Common sense is not often associated with this judge’s actions when it comes to COVID. Thus my concern.

Absolutely agree. All the limitations should be canceled. For the most part it is only the unvaccinated that are getting really sick and dying. If they want to risk it then the government should let them.

From the "other side" IT JUST BECOMES to expensive for us to quarantine in another country for 2 weeks. The flights, hotels, and BS is just not worthwhile to spend time away from our loved ones over the festive season.

Every year we promise our families that they have to hang in there, because at least we have quality time for 4 weeks in December. Now we have to scramble to make it for DSC. No way

There are many outfitters feeling the way we do. If it opens before 02 January then me and Erika will be at DSC, otherwise we are rolling over to 2023.

We will, however, jump through hoops to get to the USA after Jan 1. I wish Dallas will move to later in January, it sucks for all of us to scramble over new year to get there that early.

Trust me, it is with a heavy heart. Infinito just got accepted into the "main hall" and we were looking forward to a bumper show. I personally was fully booked with meetings for the first two days of the show. Now all of that has to change.

This whole virus thing is BS at the moment, I hope that scared old creepy sleepy dude will come to some sort of sense and lift this travel restriction Mad

I have too Agree with Infinito no way we can quarantine...ALSO DSC NEED TO MOVE THAT SHOW TO LATER IN THE MONTH! This new year scrabbling to get over their every year is tough. The irony is one of the countries we can quarantine is Mexico...what A joke. spend 15 days their on quarantine while their border is just about open with the US. Sad but we will also not be able to attend the show for the first time in 17 years.

With Brandon admitting the omicron variant being already common in The States…I am surprised these travel bans have remained in place. I am beginning to believe they possibly are an anti-hunting mission.

Let’s go Brandon.

I've had some health issues (non Covid) come up and I'm sorry to say I have cancelled my hotel and won't be coming. My hunting buddy, Hoover, says he will be there and I've told him to shop for me a tuskless or non-trophy ele hunt, maybe with a buff on the side. I'll be ready to go by next summer. Y'all have fun.

It was useless before it started. RSA just identified the variant, they didn't invent it.

Pretty sure they’ve all been useless, I believe it’s all about control and power. And in an “abundance of caution”, they are ruining thousands of outfitters and their staff’s livelihood.

I heard on the news tonight that someone died in Harris County from the omicron variant of Covid. For those that live in Texas and especially the Dallas area, how will the local politicians react and will they shut down the DSC Convention as a result?

I agree 100%. Harris County announced the first Omicron related death. They said it was a male in his 50's with underlying health conditions and not vaccinated.

If the virus growth rate blows up due to all the Christmas gatherings, I can see the politicians (especially in the bigger cities) restricting public gatherings.

Exactly!

Had a bit of a laugh with a friends son.

He is half my age.

I asked him if we could swap years.

He said “with pleasure if I can live the way you do!”

We cannot escape death.

But sitting down waiting for it is not in my agenda! clap

I’m pretty dumb when it comes to science and stuff, that’s why I went to law school. What I don’t understand is how these mutations keep, well, mutating.

It’s just about undisputed the original virus originated in Wuhan. Wuhan has a major laboratory for whatever, yet the purpose is undisclosed. Restrictions have been placed, the rescinded, then reinforced throughout most of the world. China is severely overpopulated, yet we rarely hear of their outbreaks of different variants. I recall when China once had restrictions on having children, which resulted in many infant girls being tossed in the river. That created a National population of males drastically outnumbering the females. As a result, the “courting” process has created absolutely ridiculous marriage proposals.

Once again, I don’t mean this to be relegated to the PF, but China has taken a position of strength throughout the world and won’t relent.

I hear you brother . This is difficult for all sides . Different issues for each side.

It is obvious to me that our idiot president has put in a travel ban that stopped nothing . My personal fear is that the judge in Dallas issues a lockdown order .

SCI is a different story all together . I am told from the very highest levels that the only way the show won’t happen is if they cannot. For example, another total lockdown. The rules are different in Vegas. I cannot see another lockdown there .

Showboat Joe will have new proposals out today.

There are rumblings on new travel changes, some better and other not.

The News is pushing scare tactics and like to use up 200%, however no number are provided to back up what is being provided.

We have a lot of medical friends both Dr. and nurses and they are looking to Israel and Europe for usable information on covid. Our (USA) medical output is being driven by politics and fear not science like they want you to believe.

A question become, what is in the vaccine that it is being pushed to everyone. We are taking all the way down to new borns. So what is in this vaccine. It does not stop you from getting infected, or from spreading it. So what does it really do?

Now for news stories it is about headlines, as the younger individuals only appear to read headlines and not the story. Therefore the news outlets need to have grabbing headlines. So if you have 1 new case today and 2 new cases tomorrow you are up 100%. 2 new case would not scare the readers of the news like Covid cases are up 100%.

Let me address the vaccine . First let me say my wife and father in law are surgeons. They are both conservative people . I get my info from them .

The vaccine does not 100% prevent infection nor transmission. It does reduce the severity of the impact on infected people . Hospitalizations are mostly people who are not vaccinated. Most deaths are unvaccinated people . No vaccine for anything is 100% effective .

To my fellow AR members
Being based in Dallas, serving on the DSC Foundation Board, and basically living at the DSC office for the last few weeks, I would like to share the following: 1) the DSC Convention is happening, 2) big events are occurring weekly in Dallas and without masks requirements, 3) DSC is in very frequent communication with all authorities in charge of the Convention Center.

Lastly, if anyone has any questions, I urge you to call CEO Corey Mason and ask. Let's not sit around and armchair quarterback based on bad or incomplete info. His office number is 972-980-9800. See you in Dallas boys, Dave
