Condolences to his family. Mauro had seen and done a lot during his life out in the bush.

That's too bad...I liked Mauro. I drank with him several times at the Sea Cliff, and he always sent me new hunting pics via Whatsapp!

Rest easy pal!

I only knew Mauro from meeting and talking to him once, for a brief time, on a dirt runway in the Selous.

He had a certain sort of nobility about him.

A gentleman, through and through.

I wish I had known him better.

Taken too soon.

RIP, Mauro.

Mike Angiledes referred to him as “Larger than life itself” in his Instagram post.
Never met him but followed his career somewhat. Elephant hunter who had a good run with Pasanissi before the poaching put an end to it. Then to Botswana before the ban, then to Zim. What was really nice is he took a 96 pounder in Botswana earlier this year to go out on.

RIP Mauro, you will be missed by many.
