Saeed, from what I am hearing from someone in the know is that TGTS is doing some photographic safaris and family hunting only.

They have been operating like that for quite some time and they tend to "choose" whom they want to take on as a client, most of whom are business associates of the Friedkin family.

They at one point in time got lambasted for not allowing a client to shoot their "Lion of a lifetime" because it was reserved for someone else.

They are booking limited hunts in some of their areas.

Well here is how I understand the situation from the recky I have done:

TGTS besides ownership is under totally new management.

TGTS did lose the Lake Natron East area to Green Mile some time ago and it is true that now the TZ gvt rescinded it from GM and is putting it up for auction. And, even though TGTS did have a 30 year agreement with the TZ gvt prior to losing it to GM--even with booting GM--TGTS still not getting it back with out buying it at auction. But this is another subject.

Anyway, TGTS fired its whole management and outfitting staff. It was going to go photographic only in areas left and just let the fam hunt Maswa. TGTS bought out Chem Chem to facilitate this transition.

However, the TZ gvt has ordered them to resume tourist hunting on the hunting blocks they have thus ownership has turned everything over to its new French and Swiss partners in TZ--Nicholas Negre, Fabia Bausch, and Alex Rechsteiner.

Russel Hastings, and Wayne Williamson are the only remaining original team members from what I can tell. With Pasanisi being out--they hired all ex Pasanisi PHs.

Thus Saeed, TGTS in name and original ownership is still hunting--just totally different set of folks doing the outfitting and hunting--best I can tell.

While I agree 100%, it is easy for the locals to lash out at rich foreigners.
