Thank you very much my friend.

We try to show hunting as it is.

Some of the feedback I am getting from members are quite enlightening, especially from those who have not been to Africa yet.

Pete and Gary had to drive from Dar to our camp, and I asked Gary to take a video of their trip.

Several members said they enjoyed that part, as they have never seen anything like it.

I got asked about some of the animals I have posted photos of, but no videos.

Sadly, there was not much one could show on the video, as there was no good video to show.

This could be due to several reasons, from our camera man not being ready - cannot blame him, as animals will not stand for long to be videoed.

Or the video does not show much due to bad visibility.

Thank you, Saeed, I picked it up in town yesterday. That double-up on buffalo was spectacular! I’m intrigued about the rifle the PH carries, can you tell us about it? That busted-up hippo was a gem, too!

Alan is using a rifle his father, Roy, has built for him.

It is chambered for the 450 Ackley cartridge.

I think he has fired it only once in all the years I have been hunting with him, and he asked if he could fire it before hand too.

In my experience, animals seem to die when they are shot with a 300 grain 375 caliber bullet.

Amazing, isn't it?

Two shots, two buffalo stone dead, and had no chance of asking either of how they wish to die! rotflmo

One of my PHs in the BVC shot a 450 Ackley. I had a chance to shoot it on a giraffe. A rather stout rifle for sure! Big Grin I'm still with Saeed on both the caliber and grain listed above. tu2
