SabretoothNEED HELP WITH AN AR MAGAZINE
I have an AR that shoots a 7.62 X 39 cartridge. Is the 7.62 X 39 built off of the .308 platform, which is an AR 10?
I purchased to mags which said they were for an AR10 / .308 thinking they would work. However, they are for the 7.62 X 51; the mags are too long.
Please help me figure this one out. Any information or area you could direct me to would be very appreciated!!

butchloc7,62x39 is NOT built om a 308 - it is a much smaller found - mags are special requiring a curve of the ak47 - most of thes i see are 2 piece with an ar top welded to an ak bottom

Jgrabow6493I received my AR15 7.62x39 30 round mag from Cheaper Than Dirt today so I haven't shot it yet. It's a DURAMAG by C-Products Defense.

A magazine for the ar10 won't fit in an ar15, as you've found out.
Look for ar15 magazines for the 7.62x39. Because of the shape of the x39 case, they'll have more curvature than other ar15 magazines, but still insert into the mag well of the ar15.
