That's a tough one. That is a very clean 1st year 1894 with take down and what appears to be origional finish. I suspect there will be a collector who picks it up at that price. In my opinion it is high, but that is only IMHO and I find that it isn't always right anymore about the going price for some items.

That's a fair price if it is original. The rear sight looks questionable. That is normally a carbine sight and may not be original.

Oh yes, and that is NOT a first year production gun. 1894 was the first year which began on Oct, 20 of that year. It's not even a first variation but the second.
