I'm using vanes and 100 gr. points. The inserts in question are similar to a long plastic soda straw that you cut to fit the interior space of the arrow. I've forgotten the grains per inch numbers.

I'd do that then. I don't think that moving up to 125gr makes much sense with a carbon arrow. 100gr is about perfect, I think. You don't want to get too much weight up front, or you basically get a lawn dart. I tried the 125gr points on Gold Tips and they just didn't fly well.

What are you fixing to kill with that heavy arrow?
