I been busy with getting ready for RSA in six days, just finally got started dialing in the Monster.
30 1/4" Super Lite A/C/Cs 125gr field tips
" draw, 401gr arrows. Set at exactly sixty pounds.

All 12 of my arrows thru the chrono.
300 even to 301.2fps. No tuning or anything else. Just shoot.
336gr legal IBO, 334fps.

YES! I am pleased. The shop owner is a whiz at tuning, he thinks we will crack 340fps. His partner has my draw length, so they are going to tinker with it a bit while I am gone. By July 1st I should be able to shoot 70lbs accurately, then the fun starts.

What broad heads are you going to use for the hunt?

Fixed blade like a Slick Trick or Montech 420gr arrow will do fine.

If you use a mechanical like the Rage a 450gr will be more preferable...

Enjoy every moment of the hunt.

I have always been a Muzzy fan. To let you know how old I am, I shot Missile Spikes for years and years. Before that, Howard Hill longbow and his broadheads.

For the rest of you, Gerhard and I are gently buzzing each other's towers. Good fun, and mutual respect. Matthews VS Bowtech.
The good news, either is a great choice for bowhunting anything you got the testicular fortitude to launch an arrow at.

125gr Muzzy will get the job done they have been a favorite in South Africa for a long time.

Get the arrow if possible over 450gr. Will make for a quieter bow. (Matthews bows are renowned for being slow and noisy bows Wink)

If your hunting arrow is shot at 275 to 280fps you will have a good plains gain hunting setup...

Rich,

They all shoot accurate as the shooter behind the bow.

Just make sure you hit the middle of the vital triangle and the Muzzy will get the job done...

Even if it was shot from a Matthews jumping jumping

Hope you and your family have a special Easter... tu2
